    Int'l Peace Organization with Palestine appeals to Lankans to support PM

    The International Peace Organization with Palestine, a major peace movement in West Asia, operating from Ramallah, Palestine appeals to the people of Sri Lanka to strengthen the hand of Mahinda Rajapaksa to keep fighting the rights of the Palestinians by electing him as the President of Sri Lanka.

    The appeal signed by Ameen Mohamed Al Hussain, Head of the organization has been received in Colombo by the Sri Lanka Committee for Solidarity with Palestine.

    It reads:

    "Friendly people of the beautiful green Ceylon Island, who gives support and Solidarity to overcome the war and at the same time calling for the Peace and Freedom of Palestine as well.

    As an International Peace Organisation, we would like to very sincerely wish all the very best, from the bottom of our heart for the progress and prosperity in the Island.

    "From here in Palestine we give Sri Lanka, Palestinian Solidarity Committee and the President Her Excellency Mrs. Chandrika Bandaranaike Kumaratunga and Prime Minister Mahinda Rajapaksa of the Democratic Socialist Republic of Sri Lanka, all the very best in the development and prosperity to achieve lasting peace in this Island.

    "We appeal to the people of Sri Lanka to strengthen the had of Prime Minister Mahinda Rajapaksa to keep fighting the rights of the Palestinians by electing him as the President of Sri Lanka.

    We give our fullest support to the government of Sri Lanka and friends to be in Peace all the time."
