PM assures to protect apparel industry.

Prime Minister and ruling party Presidential candidate Mahinda Rajapaksa has assured to protect apparel industry in Sri Lanka and pledged to build three new industrial zones. Prime Minister Rajapaksa has visited Tri-Star apparel today and said he would introduced new social security system for girls who are working in apparel industry.
‘My intention is to expand this industry by sourcing new overseas markets, expanding domestic markets, improving productivity and adding our identity to this industry,” he said.
Premier said that under his regime he would set up health and residential facilities in export processing zones and major apparel manufacturing areas with the assistance of the private sector.
