Jan 28, Kirinda: The Information and Communication Technology Agency (ICTA), which comes under the Prime Minister's office, is taking steps to provide high-tech communication equipment to the Andaragasyaya rural school in Kirinda. Prime Minister Mahinda Rajapaksa handed over the equipment, worth Rs. 500,000, to the school principal recently. The equipment includes two computers, satellite communication components, a fax machine, a telephone, and other related items.

Jan. 10, 05: Mr.Kishore Rao Managing Director of 3M Lanka Pvt Limited donated medical products and foods, valve of Rs.50 Million to be use for Tsunami disaster areas. Here Mr. Rao hands over the donation to the Prime Minister Mahinda Rajapaksa at Temple Trees.

Opposition Leader Mahinda Rajapaksa paid a courtesy call on the Bishop of Colombo Rt. Rev. Duleep de Chickera at the Diocesan Office, Colombo yesterday (Dec. 19, 2003). The Opposition Leader discussed with the Bishop the situation in the country. The discussion also laid emphasis to promote religious harmony among the communities in the country.
