The full letter follows:
During the last few days, it was clear that Yasser Arafat did not have long to live. Perhaps the conditions in which he lived the last three years of his life and the inability to bring a settlement to the current problems his people faced may have had something to do with his inability to overcome his last illness.

- Opposition Leader Mahinda Rajapakse has in a hard hitting letter to Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe on June
19, criticised the Premier's opening statements made at the Tokyo aid donor conference. Rajapakse is alleging
that the PM's statements "have the potential to mislead" the international community and must be corrected. Rajapakse's
letter has accused Wickremesinghe of failing to deliver on his promises and that his conduct of the peace process
is deeply flawed. The Opposition Leader has also chided the PM for failing to practice what he preaches.
